Parent/Carer Code of Conduct
At Aspire Netball, the enjoyment, wellbeing and safety of your child while taking part in netball activities are of paramount importance.
Parents and carers play a vital role in creating a positive, supportive and respectful environment. By following this Code of Conduct, you help ensure all children have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding netball experience.
As a parent/carer, I will:
- Read through the Players code of conduct with my child and ensure they understand the expectations of the club.
- Encourage my child to play within the rules and respect the decisions of coaches and officials.
- Support my child’s efforts and performance by giving positive feedback that encourages continued effort and learning.
- Recognise that competition involves both winning and losing and respond appropriately to both outcomes.
- Always be a positive role model for my child.
- Remember that children and young people learn best by example and applaud good play from both my child’s team and their opponents.
- Respect the coaches, officials and volunteers who give their time to support my child and not interfere with their decisions.
- Support my child by ensuring they are netball ready and arrive on time with all their belongings.‑
As a parent/carer, I will not:
- Apply pressure to my child in relation to performance or participation.
- Use inappropriate language towards athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers or other spectators.
- Engage in discriminatory, abusive or anti‑social behaviour.
- Criticise or ridicule any child, recognising that mistakes and losses are a part of learning.
- Distract players or coaches during the game, including shouting at or coaching any child.
At Aspire Netball, we have a zero-tolerance‑ approach to bullying and discrimination in any form.
I will endeavour to abide by this code of conduct.
I understand that if I fail to follow the above Code of Conduct, it may result in further action being taken against me under the All England Netball Disciplinary Policy.
