Player Code of Conduct

We want netball to be fun, safe and enjoyable for everyone.

When you play netball with our club, we expect you to do your best to follow these rules.

Every year, when you renewing/signing up for membership, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and discussed the Players’ Code of Conduct with your Parents/Carers, and that you all understand and agree to meet the expectations of the club.

  1. Be Respectful
    • Be respectful and kind to your coaches, umpires, teammates, opponents and spectators.
    • Listen to and accept umpires’ decisions.
    • Do not distract players or coaches during the game (including shouting instructions or coaching from the side-lines
  2. Play Fair
    • Always play by the rules of netball.
    • Try your best and play honestly.
    • Be proud of doing the right thing, whether you win or lose.
  3. Be Kind and Inclusive
    • Treat everyone fairly and make others feel welcome.
    • Never bully, tease or exclude anyone.
  4. Show Good Behaviour
    • Always use kind and appropriate language.
    • Stay calm and in control, even if you feel upset or disappointed.
    • Be a good role model on and off the court, including on social media platforms.
  5. Be a Team Player
    • Encourage and support your teammates.
    • Positively communicate never criticise your teammates.
    • Listen to your coach.
    • Arrive on time.
  6. Stay Safe
    • Tell your coach if you are hurt, unwell or worried about anything.
    • Follow safety rules to keep yourself and others safe.
    • Arrive netball ready.  Wear appropriate kit and footwear, no jewellery, chewing gum, hair tied back and ensure nails are short.
  7. If Rules Are Not Followed
    • If these rules are not followed, a coach or club official will talk to you.
    • Continued poor behaviour may lead to further action being taken by the club, following All England Disciplinary Policy.
